So I hear its been a while...

Here is a little bit of what we've been up to:

Theo loves to pretend Charlie is a horse.  Can ya tell?

We made spinach pops!  Theo ate them all, loved them all, and easily got a serving of greens.  Win. Win. Win.

We were the muppets for Halloween.  Yes. This post is old.  We didn't go trick or treating this year, but we did sit on our front porch and hand out candy to all THREE trick or treaters that stopped by our house.

Theo loves to build towers.  He can actually build a tower now, and not just knock mine down.  That doesn't stop him from knocking mine over.

We went to Jester King Brewery for Grandpa's birthday and played some corn hole.  Theo is ready to play the game, now if only he could throw... Then, of course, we went home and built towers.

Theo painted his first picture all by himself.  I didn't make a single mark on it, and he filled up the entire page. AND he only tried to eat the paintbrush 8-10 times.

Theo's overalls fit for the first time!  I bought these last year on clearance, so I am thrilled that they fit in the right season.

Only Charlie can read some books and turn on some toys.  Somehow, this doesn't apply to the horseplay.

We went to get crepes on a Monday afternoon just because.  It was great!  Charlie had a nutella crepe with bananas on top, and I had a nutella crepe with strawberries on top.  Theo was only interested in the fruit. How lucky were we to get all of the nutella??  That was a really great afternoon.

Alex and Nick got married!  We went to their wedding in the freeeezing rain.  Well, the wedding was inside, warm and beautiful, with a stunning bride.

Three girls and their babes.  Kelly, Greta and I all gathered at Kelly's parent's house with our babies one chilly afternoon.  We used to hang out at Kelly's house in high school and college, and it was oh so different to all be there with kiddos!

Theo's favorite seat in the house is the fireplace.  It is perfect for his height, and he loves to just back himself right into it and have a seat.

He also loves to climb on the ottoman in his room and "sit."  I promise he is saying "sit!" Even though sometimes that really isn't what it sounds like.

You can't tell from this picture, but Theo loves, loves, loves the slide.

And Pad Thai.

And sitting in my lap.  I think it is second to the fireplace.

And that's all folks!  Congratulations if you made it all the way to the bottom!

Happy October!

October?  Really?? And we are already half way through it? How did that happen?

Theo has been sick the last 4 days.  A fever every. single. day.  That means we have barely left the house. Everyday he seems a little bit better, so lets just hope tomorrow he's back in business.

I probably think this every single month, but 14 months is my favorite.  Theo understands everything!  Okay, maybe not everything, but it seems like everything!  If I ask him if he wants to go poop on the potty, he runs to the bathroom.  He does not poop on the potty.  Wishful thinking.  If I ask him if he wants to go bye bye, he runs to the front door.  If I tell him its time to go night night, he goes back to his room and waits by his chair for me to swoop him up and read him stories.

My current favorites are his noises.  He knows the cow says MOO, and the lion says ROAR, the horse says NEIGH, the cat says MEEAH, the mouse says EEEE, the frog says bityabityabitya.  He is full of surprises everyday, and I just love it.

And the kid can handle a breakfast taco too.

The 12 Months of Theo

I showed Charlie the pictures I have been taking each month of Theo on his birthday.  Well, almost birthday.  Well, they were all taken at about the same time each month give or take a week or two or three.  Oops.  Anywhoo, Charlie suggested we keep taking a picture each month until he is 18.  We'll see how that goes :)

Here he is from 1 to 12 months:

This little chatty boy

Every day Theo is less of a baby and more of a little boy.  We always say "when Theo was little," and I laugh because he is still very little, and he will always be my baby.  He is so chatty, and we have no idea where that comes from.  No one on either side of our family is a big talker. *wink, wink*  We still pretty much have no idea what he is saying.  "Ut" usually means water or outside, depending on the context.  He has three very similar sounding words - "again, open, and thank you."  You may not think these words sound anything alike, but if you heard Theo say them you would change your mind.  He says "Dada" with a huge grin every time he sees Charlie.  And last week he was saying "Nigh Nigh" with a grin too.  This week, the words are there but the grin is gone when that topic comes up.  "Dog" is the sweetest little high pitched sound he can make, and then there is "hot sauce" - sometimes clear as day and always funny.  Mostly, he just babbles and jabbers all. day. long.  He talks when he gets up in the morning, he talks when we are in the grocery store check out line, he talks before he falls asleep for his naps.  He is a talker.  I can't wait to hear, I mean understand, all of those stories.

Telling Uncle Pat all about the dirt.
Oh yea. He loves dirt. All boy here.

Philly!!

We loved Philly!  We had the most gracious hostess, who even put up with night wakings and very very early mornings.  Amy, when you have kids -- we owe ya BIG time. We loved the weather, we loved the cookies, we loved the pop-up garden, we loved shake shack, we loved the city!

"Mom, I'm just going to eat this rock. nbd."

Oh, one of us didn't love to go sight see. Guess who.
